Essential Duties: These positions are adult softball facility supervisors for the Recreation Division of the Provo City Parks and Recreation Department. The appointed applicants will be required to maintain control of enthusiastic fans, players and coaches; assist in facility set-up at Footprinter and Harmon Parks; assist officials and scorekeepers; perform some minor field preparation; fill in as scorekeepers as needed and perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements: Organizational skills, punctuality, and sufficient knowledge of softball rules which would demonstrate an ability to supervise facility, officials, coaches, and spectators on the field. Excellent customer service skills are also required. Please indicate your sports experience in the certifications section of your application.

Selection Factors: Knowledge of applicable rules, job-related experience, and public relations skills.

Hours: Weeknights 5:30 PM - 10:30 PM and occasional Saturdays. Schedule may vary depending on department need.

Wage: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour as determined by the duties performed and level of knowledge, skill, and/or experience. Payment will be made by direct deposit.

Duration of Position: Approximately March 27, 2017, to mid-October 2017, depending on department need.

Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, knowledge, and education. Selection may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.

Physical/Environmental Factors: This work requires physical strength and agility to perform the work including: minor bending and lifting; the ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions; and working with the public in sometimes stressful situations. In addition, this position requires the ability to diffuse conflict in the heat of competition.

Pre-employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicant will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
