Part-Time Seasonal Position

Essential Duties: These positions are Adult Ultimate Frisbee Field Supervisors for the Recreation Division of the Provo City Parks & Recreation Department. The individuals appointed to these positions will be required to supervise Ultimate Frisbee games at Sunset View or Harmon Park, perform some minor field preparation, and control the overall facility as the site supervisor. Additionally, employees will be required to assist staff as needed and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements: Must commit to a minimum of two months. Knowledge and experience of Ultimate Frisbee rules that demonstrate an ability to supervise participants, coaches, and spectators at the field. Candidates should be proactive, reliable, organized and exhibit high-level conflict resolution skills.
Selection Factors: Intermediate knowledge of applicable rules, job related experience, and public relations skills. Please highlight your area(s) of sports expertise in the certifications section on your application.
Hours: Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Times may vary according to field availability. Schedule may vary depending on department need.
Wage: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour as determined by the duties performed and level of knowledge, skill and/or experience. Payment will be by direct deposit.
Duration of Position: Games will be played on Saturdays from March 31, 2018, to May 19, 2018, depending on department need. Training will be on March 22, 2018.
Screening: Based on meeting the minimum requirements and job-related experience, skills, and knowledge. Selection for this position may be based largely upon an oral interview. Criminal background checks are conducted on all City positions. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal.
Physical/Environmental Factors: This position requires physical strength and agility to perform the work, including: minor bending and lifting; the ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions; and working with the public in sometimes stressful situations.
Pre-employment Testing: Prior to appointment, applicant will be required to successfully pass a drug screening and background investigation. Individuals with unsatisfactory drug screening results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
