Boards & Commissions

The Community Development Department directs six of the City’s boards, commissions and committees. These boards are made up of Provo City citizens who are appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the Municipal Council. These boards make recommendations to the Mayor, City Council and staff regarding various land use issues within the city.

The Provo City Landmarks Commission will hold a public hearing Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room at the Provo City Center, located at 330 West 100 South. The items listed below will be discussed, and anyone interested is invited to attend and provide comment. Preceding the public hearing, lunch will be provided to the Landmarks Commission members at 12:00 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room. ITEM 1            Election of new chair and vice chair.

Items noted on the agenda with a star (*) require legislative action by the Municipal Council following a public hearing. Unmarked items are administrative actions requiring the approval of only the Landmarks Commission. Decisions on items involving either landmark designation or the refusal to issue a Certificate of Historic Appropriateness may be appealed to the Municipal Council within thirty (30) days of the decision of the Commission per Section 16.03 of the Provo City Code.

The Provo City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers of the Provo City Center, located at 351 West Center Street. Preceding the public hearing, dinner will be provided to Planning Commission members at 4:00 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room, located at 330 West 100 South. On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers of the Provo City Center, the Provo Municipal Council will consider the items noted below with a star (*). Items noted on the agendas with a star require legislative action by the Municipal Council. Council agendas can be viewed at the Provo City Council web site on the Thursday prior to the Council meeting at http://publicdocuments.provo.org/sirepub/meet.aspx.
