Mayor Calls for Truancy Task Force

The city administration has withdrawn its proposed truancy ordinance and called for a community task force on the subject. Read the letter here.
In his letter to the Municipal Council, Mayor Curtis proposed "the creation of a community task force, consisting of stakeholders including law enforcement, the justice system, public education, home school parents, charter school representatives, and others interested in this important community issue."
