Annual Comprehensive Financial Report The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (ACFR) in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. Provo City submits its ACFR annually for certification, and has received the award every year since 1993. All ACFRs from 2007 to present are available on the right side of the page.
Annual Budget Each year the Provo City Finance Division assists the city administration with the preparation and the presentation of the city's annual budget. The GFOA established the Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program (Budget Awards Program) in 1984 to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA’s best practices on budgeting and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. Provo City submitted its first budget book for the budget ending June 30, 2014 to the GFOA for review. The budgets from 2009 onwards are available on the right of this page. Other Financial ReportsThroughout the year, other reports are prepared to provide additional information about the financial condition of the city. These reports include the five-year capital improvement plan, the Popular Annual Financial Report (a high level summary of select portions of the CAFR), and quarterly financial reports. These reports are included in the folder on the right side of this page.
