Sharen LaRue Anderson Bullock Obituary

1937 - 2014

Sharen LaRue Anderson Bullock, age 76, was welcomed home to her Heavenly Father on May 27, 2014. On July 2, 1937, in Provo, Utah, she was bestowed to her earthly family - Mother, Lora Carling Anderson and Father, Wilford John “Bill” Anderson. Her mother, Lora, would tell Sharen how special her birthday was because the whole country celebrated with fireworks each year. Sharen was blessed to marry her best friend and true love, Benjamin Neil Bullock, in the Manti LDS Temple on July 5, 1956. Sharen and Neil loved each other and started their family in a home of God, surrounded with love and laughter. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Not only was she greeted by our Savior and Heavenly Father, but also by the open arms of both of her parents, and her brother Duane Wilford Anderson, who preceded her in death.
Sharen had a deep love for our Heavenly Father and often talked about how she gained her strong testimony of Jesus Christ while in Junior high school. Sharen served in many callings while living in Bainbridge Island, WA (where Neil served in the US Army); Vernal, UT; San Jose, CA; and Provo, UT. She graduated from Provo High School and attended Brigham Young University prior to her marriage to Neil.

She was a beautiful seamstress. She designed and sewed her own wedding dress, many of her clothes, and her children’s clothes. She loved to decorate her home and the family cabin at Sundance. Gardening was another one of her passions. Provo City awarded her the “Most Beautiful Yard” honor.

She loved talking with her sister on the phone, family vacations, and listening to KBYU and BYUTV especially on Sundays. She felt a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Although Sharen was ill for most of her adult life, she never complained and always actively sought ways to help and bless her family and friends. She was a happy person and had one of the most positive attitudes of anyone we know. No one can replace her in our lives, so she lives forever in our hearts. We miss you, Sharen.

She is survived by her husband, B. Neil Bullock; daughter, Vickie Ann Bullock Cozzens (Ken) of Riverton, Utah; son, Benjamin Michael “Mike” Bullock (Melynda) of Lindon, Utah; grandchildren: Brittnie Nichole Bullock, Benjamin Spencer Bullock, Cassidy Bullock, Chase Allen Cozzens and Cambrie Allyn Cozzens; great-grandchildren: Benjamin Mason Bullock, Mackenzie “Macke” Bullock and Robert Jacob Kelly; and sister, Dalene Anderson of Provo, Utah.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Edgemont 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 3050 Mojave Lane, Provo, Utah. Family and friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Friday, May 30, from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery
