Provo Youth City Council
The Provo Youth City Council program is on hiatus for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Provo Youth City Council is an organization that offers Provo area teens opportunities to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for their community, its citizens, and elected officials through service and interaction. This is done through civic engagement, community service, and mentorship. This is not a school club or religious organization. Terms run September - May.

Past Provo Youth City Council activities include:
- Civic Engagement - Day at the Legislature at the Utah State Capitol, tour of the new Provo City Hall, Local Officials Day at the Legislature.
- Community Service - creating safety videos for the Provo Police Department, Sub for Santa, Rock the Canyon, Provo Women's Day After Party, painting kindness rocks.
- Mentorship - author and youth activist Rachelle Castor, Provo City Councilor Shannon Ellsworth, Provo School Board member Nate Bryson.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 9th grade and not yet a graduate of high school during the term of office (incoming freshmen may apply).
- Must be able to maintain 80% attendance to earn a certificate of participation.
- Each member has a tremendous responsibility to uphold their commitment and to attend the meetings and planned activities. A one-year commitment is required. It is anticipated that your time commitment will be approximately 6 hours or less a month.
