The Provo Fire & Rescue Youth Firesetting Prevention and Intervention Program is designed to address and reduce firesetting incidents among children and adolescents. This program focuses on educating youth about fire safety, the consequences of fire misuse, and the importance of responsible behavior. Through education, community outreach, and individual assessments, trained fire personnel engage with young people to help them understand the dangers of fires and promote positive decision-making. The intervention component supports those identified as at risk of firesetting, involving counseling and behavioral guidance. By fostering awareness and offering resources, the program aims to prevent firesetting behavior, enhance community safety, and better understand fire-related risks among youth. If you have a child or adolescent who exhibits firesetting behavior, don't hesitate to contact our Fire Marshal's office at 801.852.6342.
