Provo City is an entitlement city that receives funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.  We are able to use this funding to:

Provo City Development Services and the Utah Valley HOME Consortium seek to ensure equal access to housing for all people through education.

• Even when illegal discriminatory actions are not intentional, they are still illegal.

The HOME program is a federal block grant program directed by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The purpose of the program is to expand the supply of decent, safe, affordable housing for low-income households and to strengthen public/private housing partnerships between units of general local governments, Public Housing Authorities, nonprofits, and for-profit entities.

The Community and Neighborhood Services Department of Provo City is providing egress window loans/grants for low-income, owner-occupants of single-family residential properties within the city. An egress window is a window or window well large enough, as defined by building code, for exit or entry in case of an emergency.

Beneficiaries of Federal Assistance must be US Citizens, U.S. nationals, Qualified Resident Aliens, Noncitizens who receive HHS certification of eligibility letters under section 107(b)(1) of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA), Other exceptions to noncitizen benefits:

• Assistance that does not meet (Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996) PRWORA’s definition of “Federal public benefit.”
• Assistance that meets an exception under section 401(b) of PRWORA
• HUD Programs restricted under section 214 of the Housing and Community Development Act
