About Us

New Terminal Exterior Provo Airport (PVU) is Utah's second busiest airport. Commercial service is provided through our partners Breeze Airways, Allegiant Air, and American Airlines. Provo Airport is also considered a general aviation airfield, providing space for local aviators. With over 70,000 square feet of terminal space and four passenger gates, Provo Airport provides quick and comfortable access to travel opportunities.

History

Provo Airport Photo Taken in 1940 During the early 1940’s, an airstrip was constructed in Provo at the site where the airport would eventually be built. This was initially done in response to the military requesting airstrips to be built throughout the country. Soon after installment, a flight school and service station for airplanes opened.

In 2005, an air traffic control tower was added to allow for commercial service at Provo Airport. Since then, commercial air service demand has increased steadily, with growth being inhibited by inadequate terminal space. Construction of a new terminal at Provo Airport helped to meet the demands associated with the unprecedented growth and economic vitality in Utah County and surrounding areas. Provo's new terminal opened in July 2022, and is anticipated to expand again with additional gates and customs to allow for international travel.
