Nicki Lopez
1969 - 2014
Following a long and courageous battle to live after sustaining serious injuries, the Lord Jesus Christ called our beloved Nicki Lopez home on June 7, 2014.
In life, Nicki’s aim was living it to the fullest. Every day was dedicated to expressing that vivacity, which revealed itself in so many ways: acting without compromise as protector, advocate, teacher and mentor for those she loved; showing uncommon love, devotion and generosity to her beloved nieces and nephews; a commitment to physical activity and fitness that included competitive sports and exercise; a passion for an eclectic mix of movies and music; and a lifelong interest in technology that guaranteed she’d be among the first to master the latest gadget or game.
In Heaven, she joins a host of loved ones who include Antonio Jose Lopez (father); Andrella Cross (sister); Charles William Carrillo (brother); and others who have gone before her.
She is survived by her mother, Erminia Lopez; siblings Lyna Lopez, Angelita Lopez, Antony (Maria) Lopez, Loretta (Andre) Herndon, Steve (Claudia) Lopez; and 7 nieces and 3 nephews, and a great-niece.
Nicki’s life will be remembered and celebrated with a viewing to be held Thursday, June 12 at Berg Mortuary (500 North State Street, Orem) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (eulogies from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by a Rosary). A second viewing will be held Friday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (65 East 500 North, Orem), followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will be at Provo Cemetery.
