Anna Luella Jensen Nye Obituary

1921 - 2014

Our dearly loved and cherished mother, Anna Lou Nye, passed away peacefully in her Provo home on Friday, November 21. She was born on September 28, 1921 in Hiawatha, Utah to Reva and Adrian Jensen.

She was a loving mother to her three children, eleven grandchildren, and twenty great- grandchildren, who all adored her.

With her military husband, Richard, she enjoyed the military life and the opportunity to live in many states across the nation. It was a very rewarding and educational experience for her.

A very talented lady, Anna Lou operated her own interior design business in California, and after moving to Utah she excelled while working with Ethan Allen Furniture and Zions Upholstery. She was quite independent, and very generous and giving. Other talents that kept her busy were knitting and crocheting, and handwork. She kept beautiful family photo albums which provide us all with a great history. Her Grandkids loved looking through them when they visited.

Anna Lou took pride in her home and yard. Her friendly nature and quick smile earned her many close friends at work and around her neighborhood, where she liked to sit on her front porch and smile and wave and chat with all who passed by.

Her home and front yard were the common meeting place for family events and holidays, where many great and lasting memories were created. She was a great host and cook, and her family has always used many of her recipes.

She leaves behind a wealth of loving family and friends with many cherished memories, and will be missed very much.

Anna Lou was preceded in death by her husband Richard and by her daughter Christine. She is survived by her sons Rick (Carrie) and David (Elvia).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Edgemont 14th Ward Chapel, 4200 North Foothill Drive, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Provo City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent online at www.bergmortuary.com.
