Deanna Rae Turner Nordstrom

1939 - 2018

Deanna Rae Nordstrom, 78 passed away October 10, 1018 at Harrison Pointe Care Center in Ogden, UT. She was born December 29, 1939 in Provo, UT to her Utah Pioneer Stock Parents Dean L. and Tina Pauline Lofgreen Turner. She married Michael Timothy Nordstrom on September 19, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple. 
Her mother passed away when she was 2 years old and her 2 grandmothers helped raise her after her father was enlisted in the Army during World War II. Following his return, they settled in Bennion, UT where she received her elementary education and then they relocated to Normandie Park, WA where she attended Junior and High School. She went on to study at BYU where she met her future husband and it was at BYU she performed in many plays, operas and Orchestic Dance Concerts. 
Deanna was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a full-time missionary to France and Switzerland. She used her expertise in directing many roadshows which took high ratings or 1st place. She also served as a Drama Director, Speed Director and Music Director. Her byline was “There is no business-like show business”. She was also a member of The Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was a devoted, loyal wife to Michael T. Nordstrom and a loving mother to her 3 children: Christine Tina Rettew (Robert), Teresa Ann Nordstrom and Eric Sterling Nordstrom (Janell). She was a loving Grandmother to her 5 Grandchildren: Candace Mau, Zachary Mau, Jaccob Mau, Isaac Mau and Jarrod May and Great Grandmother to: Carter Mau and Oliver Mau.
The family would like to express appreciation to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Harrison Pointe Care Center for the many hours of devoted service in caring for Deanna.
Deanna’s attention to keeping her daily diary current was legendary. Her memory and rich legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew this outstanding woman. Wherever she is we know she is getting on with the show.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at Provident Funeral Home, 3800 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Provo City Cemetery, Provo, UT.
