1945 - 2018

Carole Castro Bradshaw of Provo, Utah passed away from an aggressive liver cancer on December 1, 2018 surrounded by all of her children at the age of 73. She was born on July 18, 1945 in San Francisco, California to Carmen Bonilla and Felix Castro and is predeceased by her spouse Willard Henry Bradshaw (Orem, 1925-2016). She is survived by her siblings David (Verna), Citrus Heights, California, Carlos (Winnie), Petaluma, California and Anita, Eugene, Oregon.

She is also survived by her four children: Albert, Nagasaki, Japan (2 children, 1 grandchild); Mike (Stephanie), Orem, Utah (5 children, 3 grandchildren); Marie (Darin), Clinton, Utah (3 children); Gilbert (Marin), Orange County, California (2 children).

She won a piano scholarship to attend the San Domenico School, which is the oldest independent school in California, where she graduated in 1963. She played organ for the St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in San Francisco. She joined the Mormon Church and was recruited by Reid Nibley to play piano at Brigham Young University where she was given a piano performance scholarship. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance in 1973 and then graduated with a Master of Arts in Piano Performance from BYU in 2003. She played the piano all over San Francisco and in nearly every concert hall in Utah, including holding a concert in Marriott Center at BYU. She taught piano at Weber State University for three years. She was called to serve with her husband Willard in the Kirtland Ohio mission and she served a service mission in the LDS Church History Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The funeral will be held at the LDS Church located at 1122 N. Grand Avenue, Provo, Utah 84604 at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday December 8, 2018. A viewing will be held immediately preceding the funeral at 10:00 a.m.
