John Howard Dyer, 51, passed away at his home on February 24, 2019 in Provo, Utah. He was born on January 17, 1968, the third of four sons to Robert Gordon and Melvina Bulow Dyer.
John loved to tinker with things that needed fixing. He especially loved to work on his old jeep. He was a master gardener and took pride in keeping beautiful floral gardens at his childhood home. Along with his parents, each year for many years, John created an enormous Christmas wonderland inside and outside their home for the public to view. In the last few years, John continued to create a smaller version of that wonderland just for family members and friends.
John had a huge heart and loved animals of all kinds. He often came home with strays or wounded animals that needed care and eventually became part of his family. He had a special love for cats.
John loved his family members and always remembered birthdays. He especially loved his nieces and nephews. John was a kind, sensitive soul and will be missed.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an Eagle Scout.
John is survived by his three brothers: Robert (Nancy) Dyer, Layton, UT; Kenneth (Beth) Dyer, Slatington, PA and Steve Dyer, Farmington, UT; several nieces and nephews and many cousins. He is also survived by 3 cats, 1 large turtle and multiple fish. John was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Provo City Cemetery, 610 South State Street, Provo, Utah. Friends and loved ones are invited. Condolences may be expressed at
