On Thursday April 18th at 7:00 pm, the Provo City Pleasant View Neighborhood will meet in the auditorium of Centennial Middle School (305 East 2320 North, Provo) to discuss a proposal to add the S (accessory apartment) overlay zone to the existing residential single family zone for 32 homes (see attached map). The S overlay would permit only homes occupied by the owner(s) to establish an accessory apartment, if, the accessory apartment meets Provo City standards, and, a Provo City permit is issued. These 32 homes are the only single family homes remaining in the neighborhood that do not have an accessory apartment option for home owners who live in their home.

This proposed zoning change will be heard in public meeting before the Planning Commission who will make a recommendation on the proposal to the Municipal Council. The Municipal Council will hold a public meeting to discuss the proposal and take final action, either approving the zone change or not. There is no scheduled date, yet, for the Planning Commission or Municipal Council for this proposal. Public comment will be heard at both the Planning Commission and Municipal Council meetings. Our neighborhood meeting is just one avenue to make your voice heard on this proposal.
