Ruth Nielson Gillett died of complications from leukemia at the age of 40 on July 30, 2019, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Ruth was born November 14, 1978, in Monticello, Utah. She was a beautiful person who loved unconditionally and so fully that everyone felt it. She cared about others and reached out to help even through her own struggles. She is survived by her husband, Matt, her father, Ted Nielson, her siblings, Ranee Rodriguez, Lisa (David) Oregon, Amanda (David) Blamires, and Eric (Michelle) Nielson. She was also survived by nieces and nephews and so many friends and family members who love her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Black Nielson, sister, Natalie Black, and grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Nielson, and Byron and Eileen Black. Ruth was truly a good friend, wife, sister, daughter, and aunt. She had many struggles in her life, but she was strong and compassionate to the end. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at the Bonneville 12th Ward, 715 S. Utah Ave., Provo. There will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Provo Cemetery.
