Rosella Lewis Rieske

 1931 - 2019

Rosella Lewis Rieske, 88, of Provo, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Rosella was born January 6, 1931 to August and Leah Lewis in Provo. She married Ross Rieske, her “Knight in Shining Armor” on August 25, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Rosella grew up in Provo and graduated from Provo High School. She retired from the Bookstore at the Missionary Training Center and was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rosella served faithfully in many callings including Stake Primary President, Relief Society President, and by Ross’s side as missionaries for The Church in Charleston, South Carolina. Rosella she especially loved serving as a Scout Leader. She and Ross were both recipients of the Silver Beaver Award for their life-long service to Scouting.

Rosella is survived by her husband, Ross; four children, Bill (Janelle), Richard (Debra), Juleah (Robin) Roberts, and Dianna (Robert) Richards; 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and sister, Ruth Johnson. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Marie; grandson, Colton; her parents; two sisters, Elda Mae and Julia, and brother, Gell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Slate Canyon Stake Center Chapel at 1315 East 900 South, Provo, Utah. Friends may visit with the family at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Friday, December 6 from 6-8:00 p.m. and at the Stake Center on Saturday from 12:30-1:15 p.m. prior to services.
