Nelly Jane Ferguson Madsen

 1947 - 2020

Nelly Jane Ferguson Madsen, 72, passed away February 15, 2020 in Mona, Utah. She was born December 30, 1947 to Norman Edward and Mary Boardman Ferguson in Provo, Utah.

Nelly married the love of her life, Robert Alan Madsen on February 3, 1967 and later were blessed with five children.

She graduated Provo High School in 1965. In her younger years, she enjoyed sports like skiing and softball playing the position of catcher. Camping with her family was something she also enjoyed. She served for many years in Scouting. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She loved creating memories and capturing those memories in her many scrapbooks.

Her family was most important to her. She loved playing games, visiting, laughing and being with all her children and grandchildren. Nelly was a friend to everyone. She was kind loving, thoughtful caring and accepting of others. She was blessed by so many friends that quickly became family for life. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a temple worker in both Manti and Payson Utah temples.

Nelly is survived by her sweet husband of 53 years, Alan, and their 5 children, Jaynne, Tracey, Sarah, Serena and Suzy, 25 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Nelly was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robbie.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 21st, at 11:00 am, at the Mona 4th Ward, 65 West 800 South, Mona, Utah, where Viewings will be held Thursday, February 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and prior to services on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment in Provo City Cemetery.
