ABOUT THE COUNCIL
The Provo City Council is a part-time legislative body made up of seven elected members, each serving a four-year term. They meet regularly to pass local laws, set taxes, fees, and utility rates, and approve the City budget. The Council also reviews an annual audit of the City's finances. Council staff provides policy analysis, legal counsel and administrative support, and ensures public access to ordinances, resolutions, and meeting information. The Council Office also manages the volunteer Neighborhood District Program and Provo Youth City Council.

COUNCIL PRIORITIES
Homeowner Occupancy: Increase homeowner occupancy to 50% by 2029 through a balanced mix of home types across the city, with a focus on zoning updates.
Active Transportation & Street Safety: Improve safety and accessibility by directing supplemental money not used for matching grants towards sidewalks around schools.
Code & Parking Enforcement: Address parking issues and support homeowner occupancy by addressing over-occupancy concerns.
Employee Talent Retention: Fund merit increases, cost of living adjustments, and market study increases to prevent turnover and maintain high-quality public service.
Efficient Delivery of Services: Ensure the efficient delivery of Provo City services, projects, and programs.
